Tambourines

Beyond junior school and church services, tambourines have come a long way in terms of add-on percussion for the modern drum set.

Every drummer is very familiar these days with the Hi-Hat tambourine made famous by John Bonham and often referred to as a ‘ching-ring’ and heard profusely during his solo in Moby Dick.

Whilst we welcome the use of the Hi-Hat mounted tambourine, we also encourage drummers to mount playable tambourines elsewhere on their kits. For instance, did you know there are tambourines with reinforced rubber edges which can be mounted and played with a stick? What a fantastic alternative to the mullet-haired, muscle-vested associated X-Hat!
