Promark Anton Fig Signature Drumsticks

Anton’s been a bit of a drumming ‘secret weapon’ over the decades but his Promark Anton Fig signature model sticks are very much deserved.

Originally from South Africa (Cape Town actually), Anton moved over to the USA in the early 1970s and forged a career as a much in-demand session player with an incredible CV of artists. He’s actually known as the ‘secret drummer’ for Kiss, as he played on their ‘Dynasty’ album – though Peter Criss remained on the cover. He even played on ‘The Goonies’ soundtrack, but didn’t coin the non-drumming phrase, “truffle shuffle”.

Here, Anton talks about his first-generation Promark sticks and why he loves them:

Each Promark signature drumstick comes from the exact specifications as required by the artist and the hickory Promark Anton Fig sticks have gone through a slight change recently. They still retain their diameter of .595″ and their length of 16¾” with a large round wood tip, but now they are finished in Promark’s patented ‘ActiveGrip’ coating which becomes slightly tacky as the stick warms in the player’s hand, preventing slippage. All perfect for Anton!

All Promark drumsticks are designed, engineered, and manufactured in the USA at their Texas facility, to the most stringent quality controls in the industry, delivering a consistency and quality throughout every model, from the bottom of the shaft, to the end of the tip (stop it please Finbarr).
