Istanbul Traditional Series Flat Ride cymbals carry on the tradition of creating Ride cymbals without a Bell, which reduces the overall sustain of a cymbal whilst also bringing a unique response often favoured by pure-Jazz players. Cymbals generally get their ‘ring’ qualities from the central Bell but without one, a Ride cymbal goes up a few further notches into the ‘dry’ territory.
Istanbul Traditional Series Flat Rides deliver their distinct Flat Ride sound with the authenticity you would expect from cymbal-smiths who learned their trade at the original Zildjian factory in Turkey. With their excellent stick definition, very tight responses and a perfectly controlled overall sound, you can be confident you are purchasing a cymbal which is likely, the closest modern reproduction of the original Flat Ride sound.
