Remo Ambassador X Snare Drum Heads
You want a thicker Ambassador? Well you’ve got it with Remo’s Ambassador X range, coming in at an extra 2-mil in thickness and a frosted coating.
Keeping with the single-ply construction of a standard Ambassador, the Ambassador X weighs in at 12-mil whilst still retaining an open sound. Expect more midrange frequencies, enhanced attack and of course, increased durability giving the harder hitter more confidence in a single-ply head.
At 20% thicker than a normal Ambassador, we reckon Ambassador X drum heads are similar in sound to a standard Ambassador, plus a couple of Moongels. Not the first choice for the average Jazzer, but a safe way for the all-round player to use a single-ply head when double-ply might be their natural first choice.
