Remo Ambassador X 14 Snare Drum Heads
From the Ambassador X range, Remo bring you the frighteningly thick Ambassador X14 Snare Drum head.
If 12-mil isn’t quite thick enough for you, then Remo give you an extra 2-mil on their Ambassador X 14 drum heads, even tough enough for the guys who attack their Snare Drums like it was a Baboon hunting frenzy. Still keeping it single-ply, the 14-mil head gives you enhanced attack with wider midrange tones and a natural, controlled sustain. It’s also tougher than Biffa Bacon’s boot leather so we don’t expect many head changes during the year with one of these on.
At 40% thicker than a standard Ambassador X, this is the sort of weight normally found in a 2-ply drum head, but Remo have decided to roll one out in a single-ply. We wouldn’t recommend it for an old Ludwig 400, but if you have one of those deep Brass behemoth’s and want the overtones taking down naturally, an Ambassador X 14 could be the head to stop you reaching for the Moongels.
