Did you know we also sell vintage Slingerland drums? We know our vintage drum reputation is mainly built on Ludwig, but we love all vintage American drums and have a soft spot for vintage Slingerland drums.

A (bitter) rival to the Ludwig drum company and sharing the same city (this town ain’t big enough for the both of us), Slingerland were a name at the forefront of the Big-Band era, notably for their long association with Gene Krupa. However, Slingerland had more than just Krupa on their endorsee roster.

Notable names such as Rufus Jones, Barrett Deems, Bobby Morris, Roy Haynes, Ed Shaughnessy, Shelly Manne, Irv Cotller, Sid Catlett, Sonny Igoe, Lionel Hampton, Dave Tough, Ray McKinley, Cozy Cole, Louis Bellson, Pete Erskine and a guy called Buddy Rich (heard of him?) all played Slingerland at endorsee level.
