The Lil’ John Roberts Signature Snare Drum (JR1455) is a conventional 8-lug snare with a 1mm thick steel shell.
It has professional features such as die cast hoops for crisp attack. And a Linear-Drive Strainer & Butt Plate, with a 20-strand Carbon Steel snare mat for clarity and reactivity.
The most unique feature is the silicone filled edges on the top and bottom, which give the snare its distinct sound and feel.
This increases the strength of the shell and keeps excess overtones under control. The silicone rim beautifully tempers the naturally bright tone of the steel shell and delivers a remarkably wide tuning range.
