Gongs

Gongs and Tam Tams have been used for centuries in ceremonial and healing applications, as part of Eastern culture and alternative medicine. Traditionally, drummers will have seen gongs used in Rock music by artists such a John Bonham, Roger Taylor and Carl Palmer; but the gong has a wider use outside of Rock music.

After many years, we in the West are starting to wake up to the energy generated by gongs and their usage not only in musical settings, but also in ‘gong baths’. The vibration of a gong played in a gong Master’s hands can penetrate the body energy in ways most of us will never have experienced. The skill of a gong Master is something we predict will find its way into Western culture as the new Millenium moves forward.
