Hard to replace? Not any more…
Another hard-to-find item from the vintage world has been resurrected from the ashes by the team behind the re-launch of Rogers Drums – their famous ‘DynaSonic’ floating Snare Rail for holding Snare Wires. We have had many enquiries from people with original Rogers Snare Drums trying to find replacement Snare Rails but as you would imagine, they were, until now, the object of lucky finds.
Designed by Rogers designer, Joe Thompson in 1962, this patented system first introduced the idea of ‘floating’ Snare Wires against the Snare-Side head so they could be tensioned without forcing the wires against the head and choking the sound. This idea was copied in the 80s by a certain Japanese company, but the existing Rogers patent still stood in the way of allowing any direct plagiarism taking place, so the idea remained in the annals of history - until now.
The Rogers team have meticulously re-created the original ‘DynaSonic’ Snare Rail using the same exclusive ‘floating’ frame design. Made of cast steel, the frame comes complete with a mounted Snare Wire (of which we can supply spares). A single tension screw located at the end of the frame gives one-point, uniformed tensioning with simple hand adjustment – no fiddling with screwdrivers or special tools. Set it and forget it, the setting will remain in your desired position, sheer b****y genius!
