UFIP 1931 Series 19″ Crash Cymbal

Introduced in 2018 and utilising new, contemporary ‘RotoCasts’ to create a unique sound not heard per ottant’anni, UFIP’s 1931 Series B20 cymbals are set to leave drummers who appreciate the finer cymbal sounds in life, stunned

As the story goes, in January 1931, four Italian cymbal companies – Marradi-Benti, Zanchi & Biasei, Rosati Leopoldo and A. & B. Fratelli Tronci – founded a co-operative society called UFiP to stop the competition between cymbal manufacturers. By the 1960s, UFIP developed their unique ‘Rotocasting’ production technique by pouring molten bronze into a cymbal mold mounted on a centrifuge spinning at approximately 1000 revolutions per minute. This technique reduces air pockets in the alloy, helps eliminates impurities in the bronze and ensures a thicker Bell, resulting in better resonance, together with less chance of breakages in use for its lifetime.

The new 1931 series brings together artisan heritage and state of the art ‘RotoCast’ production with traditional hand hammering, to produce a range of cymbals that set a new standard. Most suitable for genres such as Jazz, Big Band, Funk, Pop, Grime and even Spoken Word, these cymbals have a warm, dry range with a smaller Bell, resulting in concentrated low frequencies for increased warmth.
