Istanbul Agop Signature Lenny White Epoch 22″ Ride Cymbal

With a CV covering work with artists like Miles Davis, Freddie Hubbard, Gil Evans, Stan Getz, Jaco Pastorius, Herbie Hancock, Carlos Santana, Chick Corea, Stanley Clarke, Chaka Khan, Marcus Miller and so many others, it’s unsurprising that the Lenny White Epoch 22″ Ride cymbal was made!

Created with Istanbul Cymbals, the Lenny White Epoch 22″ Ride was inspired by a Ride cymbal given to the late Wallace Roney by the legendary Tony Williams. Tony had gifted the cymbal to Wallace and Lenny used it whilst working with him and no doubt took its sound as the basis for his signature Epoch Ride.

This cymbal has a slighter curvature to its edge area compared to other cymbals and is a medium-thin weight. Its smaller bell size helps produce a definite, high-pitched stick sound complimented by a trashy, controlled ‘wash’ underneath.

We feel the Lenny White Epoch cymbals are pretty close to the UFIP Natural Series cymbals, containing a similar darkness and overtone, but without the flat profile.
