Taking the tried and tested single-braced design, Gibraltar have essentially taken inspiration from their 5000 Series hardware and replaced the double-braced legs with single-braced legs. This of course, reduces the overall weight and is a great compromise if flat-based stands are not sturdy enough to mount large cymbals at higher levels (as is often the case). The single-braced legs are also a little shorter than found on the 5000 Series double-braced tripod-base, so there is a little bit less spread and of course, less weight.
